I’m going to kick off this year’s runs with some advanced notice about a weekend run to Sligo over the last bank holiday weekend in August.
Our Club has been invited to attend the 2015 "Italian 100", being organised by Classic Fiat Ireland. This event will take place on the weekend 28th to 30th August 2015, in the seaside village of Strandhill in Sligo.
Classic Fiat Ireland say…….
“We intend to hold the Italian 100 event over the weekend of the Friday 28th – Sunday 30th August 2015. This coincides with the annual CFI weekend, and we plan to do a scenic run and events on Saturday 29th, with the main show held in Strandhill on Sunday 30th.
On behalf of the committee & members of Classic FIAT Ireland, I would like to invite the members of your club to attend the Italian 100 in Sligo.
As previously mentioned, CFI are holding our annual “Classic FIAT” weekend in Sligo over this same weekend, but we would be more than delighted if you or any of the your members would like to join us for the whole weekend. Simply book in to the Yeats Country Hotel and leave the rest to us.
We would be very grateful for as much support as possible for the main show on Sunday 30th, let’s crack the 100 cars this year!”
I attended the 1st Italian 100 in Carnew in September 2013 and also the 2nd Italian 100 held in Cork last August. Both were excellent shows with plenty of great Italian cars. There were just short of 100 italian vehicles at each of these events.
I have contacted the Yeats Country Hotel and asked for any special deals that would be available for NIIMC members during that weekend;
Dear James,

Evening Entertainment
We have music Friday and Saturday night in Candles Bar
Leisure & Spa Facilities
Guests have complimentary use of our Award Winning Leisure Club and Discounted Group Rates at the Eros Spa.
Breakfast is served each morning from 8.00 am until 10.30 am. We have an extensive Bar menu which is available daily.
The organisers would be delighted for us to bring as many cars as we can and will give us all a very warm welcome.
I am thinking that anyone who’s interested in going could meet up in Lisburn at McDonald’s or the Golf Club for breakfast. Next make our way down to Sligo stopping off for lunch along the way. We should make it in time for the “scenic run and events” on Saturday 29th.
Then dinner and entertainment in the hotel that evening followed by an overnight stay so that we’re ready to attend the Italian 100 in Strandhill on Sunday 30th.
Anyone not wanting to stay over, but who’d like to come to the show, could drive down to meet us on Sunday morning. The show usually starts around midday and lasts approx. 3 to 4 hours.
I’m definitely going again this year and am just about to make my reservation at the hotel. (There’s a good exchange rate on the euro at present!) If you’re also interested in booking a room at this discounted rate you can contact Michelle or Sinead on 00 353 71 9177211 and quote the following
